Annual Report 2022 -2023
World Masters Association
Team Canada travelled to Seefeld, Austria to compete in the Masters World Cup with fifty-
eight racers along with spouses, friends and partners. The Seefeld Organizing Committee did
an amazing job of getting all the races run with some of the toughest snow and weather
conditions seen in the last decade. Daily highs of 10C, along with warm overnight
temperatures, kept the grooming crews very busy throughout the events yet they managed to
keep what little manmade snow they had in reasonable shape for competitions.
Seefeld was amazing! The Hotel Vaya served incredibly good food, and their great staff kept
our team members very comfortable and well-fed for their competitions. The great weather
during the event allowed recovery time outside in the sunshine with fresh local baked goods
and local teas etc. Great place to visit, and highly recommend the Vaya Hotel in Seefeld.
Team Canada finished 7th in the medal count with 8 gold, 13 silver and 6 bronze. The relays
saw 3 Canadian teams medal with our strong women dominating the hardware. Our
Canadian women finished very strong with the majority of our medals again, even with the
challenging course conditions.
A great final banquet with local entertainment and good beer was a great finish to the Seefeld
MWC 2023.
Team Canada returned home to begin the planning for the next season in Vuokatti, Finland and
we are excited we will be returning to Vuokatti next February.
Finally, a thank you to the World Masters Association, along with JD and Klaus, for recognizing
Bruce LeGrow at the final banquet for his twelve years of service for our Canadian Masters.
All the best to all our Directors and MWC staff for the spring and summer, and see you in
Klosters in October.
